Dolphins are fascinating animals and universally loved by many. They are not only cute and playful - always drawing a crowd when they decide to surface, they are also naturally very intelligent.
These amazing creatures symbolize luck and are a viewed as a good omen by many sailors! Why not add some luck on land with one of our Dolphin sculptures.
All products are made from recycled flip-flops that are collected from the beaches, waterways and landfills in Kenya. These products are hand carved by Kenya artisans and all unique therefore will differ in color seen in the picture.
About Ocean Sole
Non-profit art with a message!
Ocean Sole is a social enterprise based in Kenya that specializes in recycling and upcycling discarded flip flops, commonly found washed up on the coastlines.
We transform what was once pollution into colorful sculptures and products, promoting environmental conservation, raising awareness about marine debris, and providing employment to local Artisans.
Our mission aims to protect marine ecosystems while supporting sustainable livelihoods in coastal communities.
Our social enterprise positively impacts over a 1,000 Kenyans through the collection of flip-flops and direct employment.
We provide steady income to nearly 100 low-income Kenyans in our company. We aim to recycle a million flip flops year, recycle over one tonne of styrofoam a month, and save over five hundred trees a year - by using flip flops instead of wood. We contribute over 10-15% of our revenue to beach cleanups, vocational and educational programs as well as conservation efforts.
We use our social enterprise to pay bonuses to employees, invest in a welfare program that allows a zero return in funds to all employees to help facilitate payments for educating their children, buying land and other means.
